Every season I share a bucket list to help get excited about the coming months, so today I’m sharing my spring bucket list!

Spring might be my favorite season. The warmer weathers and longer days give me a fresh sense of joy and renewal! The colors and sunshine always energize me. And having my birthday in spring doesn’t hurt either.
Winter Bucket List Reviewed
December, always a favorite month for me, was even better with a Christmas market trip to Berlin & Prague. Christmas markets are glorious and I’m already making plans for next year!
The rest of winter was… winter. December was magical with the holidays, and then new year’s enthusiasm carries me about 10 days into January before I completely run out of steam. I suspect part of it was winter blues – can someone please remind me that this happens every year and to plan something fabulous for January 2021?? I mean, honestly.
Winter in Italy means a ton of cultural fun! From Christmas traditions to Carnivale, I felt like we got to experience so much of the more local side of Italy. We also got our first taste of serious snow, heading up to the Dolomites and even letting Wedge go exploring on the mountain!
February saw me get myself back into gear and back into traveling. Truly, there is nothing that energizes me quite like exploring a new place! I spent weekends in Bucharest, Romania and San Marino, adding two new countries to my list! I’ll be sharing more about them soon, but I fell in love with both and highly recommend them.
Life This Spring
Spring has gotten off to a weird start. Mostly because of the coronavirus stuff going on here has everyone on edge. Don’t misunderstand me: we are just fine, no cases near us. But there are some travel restrictions put on us because we’re military, so that’s been frustrating. I understand why, but it’s still tough to live with such tight restrictions that aren’t applied to the general public.
One difference this year is that we’ll actually get to see spring as a season! At our previous assignment in Oklahoma, there were no flowers and drastic weather changes, so we never saw much of spring. We’d have a week of lovely mild weather when the grass reappeared, and then move right on to summer heat.
I’m excited because spring is travel season! We’ll have a revolving door of visitors the next few months, and it will be so much fun to see people we haven’t seen in a year or more!! Plus, all that adventuring doesn’t hurt either. Destinations include Rome, Paris, and more!
Because of all the visitors, I’m trying to keep my spring bucket list short this season. There’s already going to be so much great stuff going on that I don’t want to approach what’s intended as a fun list of ideas with a “must do or else” mindset.
