Recently some of Logan’s family got together for a weekend at his grandparents’ farm. The trip was timed perfectly with getting in some outdoor fun in the last days of summery weather. We got to catch up, fish, and four-wheel to our heart’s content!
It’s pretty great that the Myrick brothers got to grow up coming here year after year. Being here has this essence of childhood: there’s a timelessness to the day, being free to roam until sunset when we run inside, set the table for dinner, and have a big home cooked dinner.
All the guys caught one, but unfortunately the best I managed to catch was the shots of them pulling in their prizes. This did nothing for my outdoor cred, but life will go on. 🙂
Corey and Cameron are both super talented artists, so all four of us took turns trading the cameras around. It was great to be both behind the camera and participating in the fun!
It was a slow-down, no-watches, makeup-free kind of weekend.
After dinner we took a long walk through the fields to enjoy the twilight. We had a spectacular sunset that evening. There’s nothing quite like a great sunset surrounded by nature and family.
Yes, we can fit four people on the four-wheeler. It may not be the most comfortable way to ride, but we like the challenge of not falling off as we head out to the field. But it’s definitely more fun when there’s just one or two on there and go as fast as you can.
What a great family weekend at the farm!
