I mean really, is there anything better than chocolate fondue??? Unless you’re one of those bizarre human beings who doesn’t like chocolate, you really can’t go wrong with a good chocolate fondue.
As I said with my cheese fondue recipe, fondue has become a bit of a go-to for us on special occasions. It’s simple to prepare and easy to flex the amount if you add last-minute guests.
So whether you’re planning a Galentine’s Day for your favorite ladies or a cozy night in, chocolate fondue makes the perfect choice for some chocolate for Valentine’s Day!
This is your basic fondue recipe – rich and sweet but not too sweet. It probably leans closer to dark chocolate than milk, but I like for it to balance all the sweet things you dip into it.
Charcuterie board step aside, and welcome fondue dipper spread! The fun of fondue is always in the dippers, and I always get entirely too many options. I like to have a mix of fruit and desserts, some store-bought and some homemade.
Much of these you can set up and prep in advance – the only thing to save for last-minute is slicing the banana and apple to minimize browning. But everything else on this tray can be prepped hours before!
If you want to get really fancy, make your favorite cookie or pie and serve alongside to dip in the chocolate too! Because honestly, there are few desserts in this world that don’t benefit from a dunk of chocolate. 😉
Dipper suggestions:
- strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries
- bananas
- apple (I prefer green because the acidity offers some balance to the sweetness all over the plate)
- vanilla wafers
- graham crackers
- any kind of cookie
- brownie bites
- nuts
- marshmallows
Tools you’ll need: saucepan and fondue set or toothpicks.
